This week was SO great๐Ÿ’œ

So Monday as a zone we went and hiked Hanging Rock. I paid for it throughout the rest of the week ๐Ÿ˜… But it was so fun! On the way back down a lot of people stopped us and asked what group we were with. This one lady said "I can tell you are all filled with the Holy Spirit" (': Once we got down we had a little lunch and they made me and Elder Garrett birthday brownies!

Tuesday was my birthday ๐Ÿ™Œ It was 10000% better than last year. Sister Charles was so sweet! She knows that I typically spend my birthday in Disneyland, so she decorated the living room and even made me minnie ears! Ha! Oh and while we were out knocking doors that day we got to a formers house, and right as we stepped out of the car she was on her lawn yelling " GET OFF MY PROPERTY, I AM CALLING THE POLICE" Happy Birthday to me (': Hahah but it was fine. Sister Asbury fed us dinner and then we all went to the religious meeting. They bought me a cake and sang to me. Ahh I love them! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Wednesday we had Zone Meeting. The Alexanders plus one of their daughters and her family came! They are the cutest. They even called and sang to me for my birthday! We started exchanges after that! Sister Christensen (fun fact: her grandma is from good old Moapa Valley AND she was at the victory bell senior year when we took state! #smallworld) came to Stuart and we had a blast!

Saturday = best day everrrrr๐Ÿ’™ Wendell got baptized!!! Yay!! It was so great! We had a really good turn out. He is so golden!! I can't wait to see where this new life takes him! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Spiritual Thought: " You are an example to the world, be a good one" - N. Eldon Tanner

Lastly, I just wanted to thank all of you who remembered me on my birthday and took the time out of your day to make me feel loved! ๐Ÿ˜Š Thank you for the cards, emails, videos, and packages! Being away from home can be hard, but it is all so worth it when you have an incredible support system like I do! I am SO blessed❤

I hope you all have an amazing week! Happy March ๐Ÿ˜˜

It was a pretty good week up here in Stuart!

On Tuesday we got to see Wendell. Some church had sent him some sort if picture book about Christs' death and he was super confused because what he read in there was contradicting what he read in the Gospel Principles book. So we went to the one source that is more powerful than anything else! The scriptures! His questions were resolved and we were able to continue with our lesson! We also prepped him for his baptismal interview, which spoiler alert: he passed ๐Ÿ˜Š

We also went to the Tuesday night meeting! David ( Jewish man) lead and to be 100% honest everything went over my head. He is extremely intelligent (side note: he wrote a new york best selling book in the 90's about JFK) and so he used words I didn't know and got real deep in the Bible. He is writing a book about it right now, so he basically just read from it. Oh and another member of the meeting group got us all roses (':

Wednesday and Thursday were pretty basic. We did however find a new investigator through a member! So we are pretty happy about that!

Friday I had the most unique dinner appointment ever. So a woman in our branch signed up to feed us. She texted around 5ish and said she was in jury duty and didn't know how late she would be. So she just had us go to her house and her husband set out all the food and he just went and worked in his shop until we finished eating ๐Ÿ˜‚

Saturday was pretty great! So we got to Wendell's and this convo took place
Us: how have you been?!
Him: not to good
Us : *looks at smoke free calendar sees no stickers on it for 3 days* * starts to have panic attack*
Us: oh no!
Him: *starts laughing* I'm just messing with y'all! I just wanted you to see me put the stickers on!
Us: ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™Œ
So he has been smoke free about 16 days now!! We are pumped!! His baptism is THIS WEEK❤

Saturday we also met two inactive members who said we could start meeting with them! Tender mercy right there (,:

Yesterday we had branch conference and seriously every talk spoke to me. Let me tell you, God answers prayers through other people!! And before church started  Brother Durphee called me over to him and said " your mother must really love you." And I was so confused and he just said he felt like he needed to tell me that. I almost cried but go me, I held it in! We also had a branch potluck after and let's just say i felt like violet in willy wonka when she puffed up and turned into a giant blueberry. But #noregrets๐Ÿ˜

So I've been asked what I want for my birthday and honestly there would be nothing better than to hear from all of you! Seriously "words of affirmation" is my love language so getting a letter in the mail or a fun email would make my day๐Ÿ˜‰ plus its free haha (or even better a handwritten copy of your testimony because I have been collecting those just sayin)

Spiritual Thought: "Clearly, Lehi knew opposition, anxiety, heartache, pain, disappointment, and sorrow. Yet he declared boldly and without reservation a principle as revealed by the Lord: "Men are, that they might have joy." Imagine! Of all the words he could have used to describe the nature and purpose of our lives here in mortality, he chose the word joy!" - Russell M Nelson

Well today we are going to hike Hanging Rock as a zone! So I will be back later this afternoon, so don't worry if I don't reply to you for a while!

Love you all so much!! ❤ I'll talk to you next week when I am no longer a teenager (': *gags*

Hiiii!๐Ÿ˜Š

So Tuesday was pretty much crazy/sad/stressful. We packed Sister Sandy up and Sister Thompson drove us to Charlotte! I got to see Sister Hickenlopper๐Ÿ™Œ It was a great reunion! (ps she is training (': i have a "grandchild" now๐Ÿ˜‚) Fast forward to the part where I hugged Sister Davis & Sister Sandy goodbye, so much for waterproof mascara! Thank goodness Sister Perez was there! She made me look human again hahah.

So my new companion is Sister Charles.  She is one transfer older than me and she is from Oregon! We had a pretty fast paced first day together! As soon as we got back from Charlotte, we had to rush to our dinner appointment, then go to the Tuesday night meeting, and then I got lost on the way home ๐Ÿ˜‚ So we didn't get back till around 9:15.

Wendell is doing a m a z i n g ❤ He is still smoke free! And he wants to be baptized sooner! So looks like I am getting a good birthday present next Saturday, the 25th ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh I have a good story! So this week the zone leaders and assistants came to our district meeting. After we all went out to lunch at this Mexican restaurant. I don't know who ( my money is on Elder Bishop but he swears it wasn't him) but someone told the waitress it was Elder Murray's birthday. (which is wasnt) So the crew comes out with a sombrero and they start singing and then they mash cake into his face ๐Ÿ˜‚ It was hilariousssss! Or maybe you just had to be there but still a highlight of the week!

Also Saturday morning our power went out so we got ready in the dark with a little latern. That was an adventure! And our microwave broke ๐Ÿ™ƒ

spiritual thought:
"I come … with a plea that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I'm suggesting that we accentuate the positive. I'm asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment virtue and effort." - Gordon B Hinckley

Okay sorry this email was so lame. Feel free to email me with any questions or just to update me on how you're doing! ๐Ÿ˜Š I would love to hear from ya! Love youuuu! ๐Ÿ’•

Hi! Happy February aka my birth month๐ŸŽ‰ ๐Ÿ™Œ I turn 20 in two weeks. I might gag if I think about it too hard though

It was a pretty great week up here in Stuart! It is Sister Sandy's last 48 hours so emotions are like everywhere. But I would just like to publically thank her for enduring to the end. There is not a trunky bone in her body and what a blessing that is!!

We had zone conference on Thursday! It was combined with 2 other zones! I got to be with 3 of my past companions! Which is alwayyyys a blast! This zone conference was really focused on The Plan of Salvation! What a great feeling it is to know where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going after! Seriouslynit makes like 100000 times easier. Sister Sandy had her exit interview so we had to stay around after the meeting for a while. So I hung out with Sister Alexander and the Pilot Sisters! Sister Alexander showed us the transfer board on her ipad. And guess what?! Some change happened in the missionary department and ALL the transfers got pushed up. So now I come home in September. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

We got to see MAJOR progress with Wendell. So we taught him Wednesday. We told him at our last apointment we would teach "The Gospel of Jesus Christ" butttt Sister Sandy and I both really felt like we needed to teach "The Word of Wisdom." So we showed up and told him we changed our minds. He said he had been praying that someone would help him quit smoking! Ahh miracle! He is really showing faith unto repentence! He showed up to church yesterday and said he had't smoked since our lesson on Saturday!! I have never had to quit smoming or  taught someome who had to quit smoking, so if any of yall have had personal expeirence and dont mind sharing, I would love it! ๐Ÿ˜Š

ALSO AN APOSTLE IS COMING TO THE MISSION IN MARCH!!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜€I have met him before very briefly, but still exciting!

Oh duh transfer news. So I am staying put in Stuart for the next 7 weeks (its a long transfer i dont really know why though) and Sister Charles will be my new companion! I don't really know her so good thing we have at least 7 weeks together haha I will miss Sister Sandy SO much! Seriously she is the best! ๐Ÿ’™

Spiritual Thought:
"Essential to the plan is our Savior, Jesus Christ. Without His atoning sacrifice, all would be lost. It is not enough, however, merely to believe in Him and His mission. We need to work and learn, search and pray, repent and improve. We need to know God's laws and live them. We need to receive His saving ordinances. Only by so doing will we obtain true, eternal happiness." - Thomas S Monson

Okay well that's all I got this week. If you have anything exciting happening in your life feel free to email or snail mail me!! ๐Ÿ˜˜

Love you all! Have a miracle filled week! ❤❤

January 30, 2017 10 MONTH MARK

H
ello all, this is the mom, putting the blog up today.  For some unknown reason, there are times when Jenni's tablet fails to load this blog.  Who knows why, but this gives me a chance to thank you all for supporting Jenni on her mission with your prayers and kind messages.   She is doing great.  This momma is very proud of her girl!   Now... February 21 is Jenni's 20th birthday (she can't see her blog, can only post here) anyway, her address is at the bottom of the blog and I know she would LOVE to get real mail for her birthday, so if you have an extra stamp lying around, please send her a birthday message.  Thanks!

Here is her message for the week:

Two things, how is January already over?! AND HOW AM I 10 MONTHS OLD?! ๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿ˜…

This week was wonderful though! Full of miracles per usual! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

So last Monday, I was doing pday stuff when I realized my ring from my grandma was not on my finger anymore. I have had that ring since 2009 and it means the world to me. So I started looking EVERYWHERE! I couldn't find it, and my mom told me to just let it go for a few hours, so I did. I prayed so much and looked so hard through the week and still it was no where to be found. Friday night we had some extra time before bed so I was determined to find it. I got on my knees and pretty much begged Heavenly Father to help me find it. So I looked in all the rooms and corners that I could think of. Then I sat on my bed and just listened for the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I thought of all I did on Monday. One thing came to mind, I re made my bed after washing my bedding. So I felt like I needed to check under my fitted sheets. It was in the last corner I looked in. I was SO happy!!! I am so thankful for those tender moments that remind me of God's love and concern for his children! ๐Ÿ˜ญ❤

Tuesday was a great day too! We were able to find a new investigator named Charlotte! Her lesson went SO good!! We also got to go to the Tuesday night meeting! We had planned to go early so we could talk to just Felicia and to prep the song we were gonna sing. But that night we ate at a members home and the GPS was no help with getting us to Felicia's. We got SO lost. It was dark, there were scary dogs chasing our car, ( sidenote: Stuart has made me an anti big dog person)  and we were going wayyy too many miles. So basically Satan was trying to stop us because we had super great plans. But he didn't completely win. We got to the meeting with 2 minutes to spare! We got to sing "Joseph Smiths First Prayer" and they loved it! They said it gave them chills and they could feel the spirit! ❤  It is on my facebook page if y'all wanna check it out! (Sidenote pt 2: some people have asked me about the facebook rules again and basically you can do whatever you want with my posts, like, share, or comment. I just cant follow your feed! )

Big changes took place Wednesday. We had the worldwide missionary broadcast! It was so great! There were also some anouncements made and you will probably here them from 100 other missionaries today. So for starters our daily schedule is different! We have from 6:30- 10 to exercise, eat, get ready, plan, and have personal study. There is only a set hour and a half, the rest of the time is basically free! A big change is planning in the morning, because we usually would plan for our next day right before bed! Another big change is 30 minute lunch time. I HATE it! Hate is a strong word I know, but it is stressful! By the time we actually cook something, we have like 10 minutes to eat it. I am sure it was inspired, I just haven't figured out why yet. We also get to go to bed early now which obviously I am pumped about! Pday also got changed too! Now it starts at 8am not 10am!! We have 2 extra hours which is SO great!!

As missionaries, we set weekly goals, and those got changed as well! The Charlotte North Carolina Mission has been piloting the main key indicators since June, so this really is nothing new for us. We have seen a lot of success though since we started focusing on the specific goals! I am excited for all the other missions in the world to see that same success!

Okay I saved the best for last, so hopefully all 5 of you who still read this, are still with me. ๐Ÿ˜˜

So a few weeks ago we met Wendell. We had our return appointment on Thursday and it was incredible. He read the pamphlet we gave him, and he knew his facts! The lesson went so well and I am proud to say HE HAS A BAPTISM DATE!! He also came to church yesterday and loved it!  We are so excited to be working with him! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Spiritual Thought: " It's hard to have a negative attitude about things, if and when your life is focused on the Prince of Peace" - M. Russell Ballard, "Our Search For Happiness"

Well I can't say enough how much I love this life and this area and my companion and the branch and my Heavenly Father and my Savior and all of you!! ❤❤❤ These past 10 months have been so wonderful and I wouldn't trade them for anything!

Have a great week!

JANUARY 23, 2017 Part TWO

Hey all, the first part of this blog was really last weeks entry that never got put up.  oops!    This part is actually today!  This week!   With help from the Mom!

This week was one we were dreading. We had no big events to look forward to, or any fun meetings. So we prayed extra hard that we would survive the week and it ended up being a week of miracles๐ŸŽ‰

The first miracle was on Tuesday!  We were in charge of leading the religious meeting on the mountain. They wanted us to show how the Bible and Book of Mormon went hand in hand. So we used a lot of scriptures and personal experiences! We were also able to teach most of the Restoration! It went SO well! All 7 of them accepted a Book of Mormon and they want us to lead once a month and present our lessons! Naturally we are pumped! Oh! Also every time before it starts we sing while David plays the harp. They LOVE "Come Come Ye Saints" but we were a little tired of that song (no offense pioneers who inspired it) So we switched things up and sang "Come Thou Fount"! Felicia recorded it and put it on her personal facebook page  and her store page! So you can go on my page and find it if you wanna watch it! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Miracle number two & three occurred Wednesday and Thursday. We did a looooooot of knocking. But God gave us the opportunity to teach! And we found 3 new investigators! Wahoooo! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Friday brought miracle number 4. We went out with a girl in our branch who just got home in October from her mission in Idaho! (Fun fact: Her first district leader was a return missionary I met this summer in the Wilkesboro ward! Small world!)  So we had a return appointment, that sadly fell through. So knocking we went! Out of the 4 doors we knocked on, ALL of them talked to us! And 2 of the 4 let us teach them! It gets better. One sweet couple, let us in (and let us help them with their groceries #yayforunplannedservice)  and we got to know them for a little bit. They were asking us some real great questions of the soul and we were able to testify of restored truth to them. As we got to know them, we connected the dots and found out that they are Felecia's parents!๐Ÿ˜ฎ They want us to come back and teach them more. They weren't able to commit to a specific return appointment due to upcoming doctor appointments, but hopefully we'll be able to meet with them again soon!

Saturday we had miracle number 5, getting invited to dinner & a birthday party! Ok it wasn't a huge miracle but still it gave us something to look forward to haha Plus we got to be with the cutest families in the branch who we love so so so much! ❤

And lastly, miracle number six. We were former finding after church and met Larry! We had a great conversation and he accepted a return appointment! And because of him, we met our monthly goal!! ๐Ÿ˜ŠMiracles can be found EVERYDAY! This I can testify. Big or small, God is always willing to provide those tender mercies!

Spiritual Thought: "Be brave because you are a child of God. Be kind because everyone else is, too" ❤❤❤

I am so thankful for each & every one of you!!  Enjoy your last full week of January!! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ
