Yesterday I hit that 7 month mark whatttt?! Feel free to send your congratulations to
439 colonial ave apt d

πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚ hahaha but really mail is so fun to get #needy4life

So this was maybe the busiest week and I hardly took a break so my  exhaustion level is too real! But it is okay because missionary life is so fun and even though I miss 3 hour Sunday naps, I wouldn't trade this lifestyle for anything!

We got to teach Collen again this week and it went so great! We made a little Plan of Salvation cut out thing for him and he loved it! He had so many great questions too! Sadly he went to his dads for the weekend so we didn't see him at church.

On Friday we had district meeting and interviews!! Sadly Sister Alexander couldn't make it, but they went well like always! President said I had a missionary glow which surprised me, mainly because I was doing everything in my power to keep my eyes open haha.

Also before interviews we were just sitting on the couch and this man walks in looking for early voting. He started asking who worked here and all these questions. Thankfully we have brave elders because Sister H and I were just like " uh we don't know this is a church we don't vote here" so anyways this man gets all upset and then has the nerve to yell at President and I wanted to just make him go far away. He defiantly drove the spirit away.

On Saturday we had the branch fall festival! It was so fun!! We set up our trunk and passed out a lot of candy! We got a lot of referrals tooπŸ™Œ We are so excited to start contacting them!

Spiritual Thought: This is more of another short miracle story not a scripture. Anyway when I left Wilkesboro and came to Lancaster I unpacked everything and was missing my flash drive. This flash drive had all my pictures from the MTC and Concord so I kinda freaked out about it. I looked probably 50 times through EVERYTHING I had. No luck. Then when transfers came and missionaries got put back to Wilkes, I contacted them and they hadnt seen it. So I kept praying and hoping it would show up. About a week later, they found it! And this week I got it back! It strengthened my testimony on the power of sincere prayer. Heavenly Father listens to every single word from his children. And his own time he answers. I am so thankful for all the prayers that have been answered in my life and I know he will answer every prayer! ❤

Well I hope y'all have a happy halloween!! πŸŽƒπŸŽ‰ We are gonna have a zone activity this afternoon and it will be a blast! If you're dressing up as anything fun tonight  show me!  Emails with pictures are always better πŸ˜‰

Sure love ya! Have a great week and don't forget to turn your clocks back an hour on Saturday!! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜˜

Oh my goodness! I loveeeee missionary life. This week was so fun and I laughed so hard and in case you didnt know, I have the best companion ever. AND I get to go to Target again today, so really in the words of Tswift. " I don't know how it gets better than this" πŸ˜‹

This week we got  new investigator! Wahoo!  Her name is Megan and she is a nanny for a member that used to live in Lancaster. She saw a pamphelt at the ladies house and called and ordeered a Book of Mormon! We met her Tuesday and had such a great discussion! She is great and we arre excited she wants to continue to learn!

We did a lot of service this week! We helped Sis Tracy with their house that they are remodeling. It makes me wanna buy an old southern home one day. It is such a cute house and I can't wait to see what it looks like when it is all done! We also moved out a family in our branch on Saturday. Thankfully they are just moving across town! During all those service activites I was thankful for my parents (and grandpa Cal) who taught me what it means to work hard. With all the tasks I was given I thought of my grandpa and his saying " if the job be big or small, do it right or not at all!" πŸ’ͺ

We also have had a lot of great moments while we go finding in Walmart! We were able to teach a whole lesson to a man and his wife on Saturday! Just by starting a basic conversation, it lead to a gospel message! And I was able to give a Book of Mormon to them that my mom sent me! She wrote her testimony in it and even marked some scriptures! It is so amazing to see who the Lord puts in our paths!

Spiritual Thought:
"Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." Mosiah 13:15

We have taught the 10 Commandments a few times recently and it got me thinking of number three. Everyday people are constantly using God's name in vain and breaking this simple commandment. God has done and continues to do so much for all his children. I would invite you all to start using his name with the respect it deserves! I know you will be blessed greatly for it! 😊

Well today we have to make a trip to Rock Hill, because Sister H's tablet just completely shut off a few nights ago and nothing will get it back on! So hopefully we get all that fixed today! On the bright side Best Buy is right by Target, so we don't mind πŸ˜‰

Life is good and it is even better when you can share the gospel with others!

I hope y'all have a blessed week! Sure do love ya!πŸ’•

It was a great week here in South Carolina!πŸŒ™πŸŒ΄

Door approaches always give you good quotes to put in your journal. For example this week we knocked on a door and this happened
Me: Oh what do you like about your church?
Man: That it isn't LDS and is actually christian
I just smiled and bit my tongue which is sometimes all you can do! πŸ™ƒ

We had a miracle filled Tuesday and we were able to teach 3 other lessons which is kinda a big deal for us. So we were feeling very blessed. But wait it gets better. On Wednesday we went to Collen's lesson and invited him to be baptized and he said yes!! He has been wanting it for a really long time! He is the cutest kid and so smart! We are so happy we get to keep working with him and help him reach his goal! 😊❤

We also got to go help out at a fundraiser event/ fashion show! It was way fun! For a second it made me want to work in the fashion industryπŸ˜‚  And we were able to meet a set of girls from Lancaster and give them our card!

The cherry on top of the week was Friday. After Zone Meeting we got permission to go get warmer clothes since it's getting colder. Sister Tracy took us to Kohls & Target and I just about died. I was so happyπŸ˜‚ I haven't been to either of those stores for almost 7 months!! I felt right at home though! And 7 months later I am still going to Target for just one thing and coming out with 20 other things I don't needπŸ’πŸ˜‚

I spoke in church yesterday! And it got us a referral from a family in the branch! Referrals always make our days better! We are working with a few people right now but sadly none of them showed up yesterday. Before my mission everyone said getting people to church is not easy, and I didn't believe them. I thought all you had to do was invite them and they would come πŸ˜‚ Sadly I was wrong.

Spiritual Thought:
"And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." - Moroni 10:4

I have a challenge for y'all! As a mission we are reading 7 pages a day of The Book of Mormon to finish by Christmas. We are also highlighting the doctrine of Christ! It has been so fun and makes my mornings better! I challenge all of you to read it with me! And to take the challenge given by Moroni to read and pray to know for yourself if it is true! If you don't have a Book of Mormon fear not! That is what the local missionaries are for! Or you can go to lds.org and request one for free😊

Well it is kinda crazy how fast time flies by! Thanks for putting up with these emails for the past 6 months! You are all amazing people who I am lucky to know! Hope to hear from you soon! Love y'allπŸ’•

Good news! I survived my first hurricane!! It really wasn't that bad. Everyone was saying the power was gonna go out and flooding was going to happen. But in reality it was just WAY windy and rainy. I am super thankful though! My thoughts and prayers are with those on the coast! Also people were freaking out because the weather map looked like a skull and then they got out their bibles and read Matthew 10:7 (since it hit on 10/7) and it talks about preparing for the kingdom of heaven hahah at least people were reading their scriptures right?

Anyway it was a pretty good week! We took a road trip on Thursday to Charlotte. We had to go get our car inspected so we had a most of the day trip thanks to good old traffic! The best part of all of it was getting Cook Out πŸ˜‹

Basically this week me and Sis H were OUT OF IT! So tired hahah so funny story. On Friday night we ate a HUGE dinner and afterwords we started our fast. Mid prayer I realized that it was not at all Saturday night and we didnt need to be fasting yet hahah so we just closed it as soon as we started it and laughed at ourselves for a minute

The best part of the week though was Sunday afternoon! Why you ask? Because I got to skype Jorge! He was the man we found and taught in Concord. He got baptized yesterday😁 I am so beyond sad that I wasn't there, but I was so overjoyed to get to talk to him. He is the best and I am so blessed I got to help him along this great journey! ❤

Spiritual Thought:
"If all that your children knew of the gospel came from you—as their only source—how much would they know?" - Elder K. Brett Nattress of the Seventy

This comes from a conference talk! And I LOVE that question. Seriously think about it! I am so grateful and blessed to have two parents who always put the gospel at the center of our family. I still continue to learn from them. I invite you all to ponder this in your own families and make the gospel a part of your families daily life.

That pretty much is it! We had a good week and laughed a lot! I love Lancaster! I also love hearing from all of y'all! Also for those who have asked for it my current address is 439 colonial ave apt d
Lancaster sc 29720 so if you need anything to do this week I know a missionary that would love to hear from you πŸ˜‰

Also totally never will be over the fact that Tower of Terror is getting shut down for a marvel ride?! #notcool So someone go ride it for me one last time 😘

I love you all and am oh so blessed to know you! Have a wonderful week! Hope to hear from you soonπŸ’•

"On October 3rd he asked me what day it was."
" It's October 3rd"
( I couldn't just let the day slip away without quoting thatπŸ˜‚πŸ˜œ)

Hahaha so my mom is probably gonna hate me for my title but IT HAS BEEN SIX MONTHS SINCE I HUGGED MY MOM PEOPLE! And surprisingly I am still breathing. This week was incredibly exciting and seriously something happened everyday so here we go!

Tuesday: Sister Alexander ( Mission Presidents Wife) came to companionship study, then took us finding, and out to lunch❤ What a wake up call that was! Honestly I learned so much in such a short time. Sister Alexander is a true example of what a FULL time missionary is and should be. Plus we ate Mexican food so I really felt like I was with my mom 😊

Wednesday: Zone Conference!! It was combined with Charlotte Central aka my homies from my 1st area. I was reunited with Sister Davis and obviously loved it! Seriously her and Sis Nuniez are little rays of sunshine that I just love so much! I also got to say my last goodbye to Sister Ince! She goes home Wednesday! But anyway zone conference was great!! We learned alot about finding people to teach! Also cutest thing of my life.... President was demonstrating a quick role play of the restoration and he grabbed Sister Alexander's hand and recited the 1st vision to her with such power and they both started crying and it was seriously so sweet ❤❤❤

Thursday: Service Service Service! We helped Sister Tracy ALL day work on their new house that they are remodeling. It is so cute and I am so excited to see what it will look like at the end!! It is an old vintage 1800 southern house! We even had a missionary experience when we went to the dollar store with her! We were in the checkouts and the cashier asked who we worked for. We told her who we are and what we do and she said she already just loves us and wants to learn about our church because she is really trying to get close to Christ again. It was such a tender mercy! She unfortunately had to work all week, so we haven't seen her yet.

Friday: Roadtrip To Charlotte! So I had my 6 month EKG/Echo heart checkup. We went on a little trip to Charlotte! My appointment went fine ( even though I wish I could fly home for it because CHF is where its at❤)  and I was able to teach a lesson while my Echo was being done! The tech asked me about my beliefs and differences in my church VS others. So I basically taught the restoration right there. He had such a STRONG testimony and he was willing to have the Charlotte missionaries bring him a Book of Mormon! So hopefully something comes out of it, at least a seed was planted!

Also on Friday I turned 6 months old. It has gone by fast but slow. I have definitely learned a lot though. I am (thankfully) not the same person I was before I left. But it got me thinking, not only has it been 6 months since I hugged my mom, it has been 6 months since I have spoken to some of you! So seriously tell me all about your lives! I always talk about mine, but never ask about yours! So here is me repenting 😘 Even if it is something short and sweet I would still love to hear from ya!

Saturday/Sunday: GENERAL CONFERENCE!! So General Conference happens twice a year ( April & October) and it is a time where we get to hear from our church leaders! It was so nice to just sit and listen and take in all of their council. They talked a lot about repentance and the atonement. It was all so great! We were able to watch Sunday night at the Tracys which was nice because I felt like I was at home 😊 In case you missed it or want to re-watch it check it out on youtube or lds.org!

Spiritual Thought: "...My brethren, all ye that have assembled yourselves together, you that can hear my words which I shall speak unto you this day; for I have not commanded you to come up hither to trifle with the words which I shall speak, but that you should hearken unto me, and open your ears that ye may hear, and your hearts that ye may understand, and your minds that the mysteries of God may be unfolded to your view." - Mosiah 2:9

This scripture reminded me perfectly of the purpose of General Conference! People all over the word gather around, just like in the old times, to listen to the words of God. How grateful am I for modern day revelation and the opportunity we have every day to heed their council and change for the better!

Oh also we got transfer news! Me and Sis Hickenklooper are staying together while Sis Maybee is going to be leaving usπŸ’” It was a fun few weeks as a trio though! Trios are so FUN!

Well hopefully you're still reading to this point. Too much happened this week to not write about all of it! But thank you for supporting me these past 6 months! I sure love you all and hope to hear about your lives soonπŸ˜˜πŸ’•
