Oh my goodness! This week was crazyyyy and this upcoming week will be even craizer! #thelifeofanstl

So remember last week when I told yall that the one lady we met last weekend called and wanted us to come over? Well we did. It was going so great she was really emotional and telling us she felt like she needed to reach out to us.... turns out she just wanted us to loan her money to get out of debt🙃 like what?! So weird.

So this week as a zone we had fast week! So every companionship took a turn! So all day Wednesday we went without food and water so we can see miracles! It worked 😊 We found a new investigator! Wahooo! We actually found 5 this week so we are pumped🙌  side story: while we were fasting we went to service at the old folks home. We alllways bake with them. It took everything in me not to lick the spoon of the chocolate cake mix hahaha but its ok I didnt give in and it was worth it!

So we had exchanges back to back this week! On Thursday, Sister Peterson from High Point, came here with me! It was so great! I learned alot from her and we were able to find some solid potentials! The next day I went to Bethania with Sister Payne! Fun fact, she said she wanted to go to Spain on her mission haha so I told her my mom got that covered for her #hermanapayne Also we arent related well I dont think we are haha. But  it was a good time! I loved it! While we were there we taught someone who was high as a kite😂 it was intresting. That is my favorite part of talking with everyone, you get fun stories! Also this lady we talked to told me to come back after my mission and marry her son???😂 people are nuts

Spiritual Thought:  "As we pray with faith, sincerity, and real intent, we will see God's influence in our lives. He will guide us in our daily lives and help us make good decisions. He will bless us with feelings of comfort and peace."

That was pretty much my week! I love being a missionary so much. Yesterday we walked by primary and they were singing" I hope they call me on a mission"  and I started crying hahaha I wish I could stay forever! I am so grateful for this gospel and I invite everyone to do something this week to increase your faith in Jesus Christ. It makes life worth living💕 This week is gonna be crazy fun! I am so pumped! ❤ I hope to here allll about y'all and what kind of fun things you have been up to! Have a good 4th and enjoy the fireworks🇱🇷💙

#65 June 26, 2017 ALL IN

The Blog
Okay so this week was a little more exciting!

We had district activity last Monday! So we went bowling, it was fun! I bowled over 100 (': that for sure never happens so I was pumped!👊

Tuesday we had an MLC conference call. Sister Christensen and I were excited because we thought President was gonna announce something super exciting, like us being able to go to the temple, but sadly none of that happened. It was kinda just a discussion about being good leaders and helping the mission. BUT he did announce something great! STLs can now go on exchanges with other STLs! 🙌 So we are excited!

We are still talking to everyone we see which really makes the work more exciting. And on Tueaday night we met David. We had a really good conversation and we made some connections! He told us he had family from Spain, so I of course told him my mom served a mission there. Then he said his wife is from Brazil, so of course I asked where because my best friend is there. And y'all! His wife is from RIBERTO PRETO AKA TAHNEES MISSION! So then I asked if he knew where Penapolis (her area) was and when he said yes I just got this wave of joy! Even though it sounds a little silly, it just made me thankful for Heavenly Father placing people in our paths at the right moments❤

Speaking of that, we were walking to our car after trying some people and felt like we needed to talk to this lady. So we did and she let us right in! Also she had the cutest daughter! Anyway they are looking for a church and especially one that the tithing goes to a good cause and not to buy a preacher a new car. So of course we were all over that! We taught her the restoration and I was just so happy! It was going great.....until the first vision. Then satan ruined everything per usual. She was weirded out by the Book of Mormon and said she would have to do her research. It was a terrible ending, but I am still thankful we got to meet her!

And one more story! So Saturday we drove to an area and lightening flashed right in front of us, and then the same second thunder roared. It was freaky but so amazing! Anyway it immediately started pouring! But the work stops for nothing! We got to talk with a couple for a while, it didn't end in a return appointment or anything. But this morning we got a text from the wife and she wants us to come to their house! So we are in shock, I am telling you this like is so rare when people actually call us, but we are excited!

The Winston zone is making a comback! The last few months we haven't had much luck, but in 3 days we found 29 New Investigators! Which hasn't happened for a while! But the zone is All In and ready to kick the trash out of this transfer 👊😂 So many exciting things will be going down these next 5 weeks! This week we are having fast week, so a few companionship will be fasting on a certain day, and we all know big miracles will come ❤

Spiritual Thought:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son … that the world through him might be saved" - John 3:16
So I am almost done reading Jesus the Christ and I STRONGLY recommend it. I just finished reading about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and my appreciation increased greatly. I am SO thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who would send us His son, and for His son sacrificing himself for everyone past, present, and future.

Being a missionary is the bessssst😍 I am looking forward to this week! I hope you are all enjoying your summers and not melting too badly in that 120 degree heat 😉 Hope to hear from you soon! Love youuuuu🖤

THE LETTER:

So in deciding what to write about from this week, I came to the conclusion that nothing really exciting happened, just same old missionary work!

On Monday we had to put two investigators on hold (aka stop teaching them for now) Which is always a bummer. But then Heavenly Father blesses you with 3 new investigators to start working with!

We were out in the far part of our area and we were looking for a former, but got lost. But we found this brand new neighborhood, so we decided to just knock some doors. Then we met Lily! We got to teach her a little bit and set up a time to come back! So sometimes getting lost isn't all that bad! And then last night we parked our car and walked to the names we had. Lately we made it a goal to talk to everyone, so that's exactly what we did! And the Lord blessed us with finding Reggie! 😊

We visited a lady in our ward, we meet with everyweek and when we came in she yelled "you need a mask!!" So we ran to the kitchen and got masks. Turns out she has pneumonia 😮😂 and no one told us!! So we didn't stay as long as planned and so far we are still healthy haha

I totally forgot to mention last week that we would be getting transfer news! Well I am happy because Sister Christensen is staying! And we are getting two brand new sisters in our zone! Yay!!! I am really excited for this new transfer coming up. We have some plans up our sleeve that we really hope turn out as great as we plan!

Spiritual Thought: "A home established on gospel principles will be a place of refuge and safety. It will be a place where the Spirit of the Lord can abide, blessing family members with peace, joy, and happiness."

Well that is it from my side! So I hope y'all keep me posted on anything exciting going on in your life! Have a great week! Love youuuu❤

#63 SPRINT to the FINISH June 12, 2017

Hey all...this is the mom right now.   Jenni is having some trouble getting blog up, so I am going to do a catch up here (have 3 blogs to post for her)   Wish me luck as this is not my forte!

This week seemed to just zoom by!

We had zone conference on Tuesday. And it was so stressful hahah. So now that we don't have zone meeting, the second half of zone conference is done by the Zone Leaders and STLs. We were over time already and just rushed, so it was hard for me to like relax and enjoy that part of it. But our trainings went well so that's good! But the rest of Zone Conference was really fun actually!

The next day we got to go to lunch with one of Sister Christensens old companions! I actually served around her my first 2 transfers so it was fun! Plus we got Chik Fil A so doesnt get much better!

We were able to find 4 new people to start teaching this week, we are pretty happy about that! (Also side note, while teaching someone their tv was on and I found out THATS SO RAVEN IS COMING BACK hahaha )  I was also able to finally meet Dennis. The sisters have been working with him for a looong time. He is planning on being baptized as soon as he sorts some things out, so we are excited! Plus he grew up in Vegas 😊

Last night President Alexander hosted a fireside here in Winston. The missionaries put on a little presentation about the Restoration and we sang some songs. Then some recent converts bore their testimonies. Wendell was there! It is so great seeing all your hard word actually count for something and seeing the happy ending makes it so worth it! ❤

Okay so I have a HUGE favor to ask of you all. So I go home soon *starts crying hysterically* And in our mission, when you have 3 months left you get a Sprint letter. Where you pledge to work harder than ever in your last 3 months. To sprint to the end. So in order for me to stay focussed and really do all I can, I wanted to ask you to not mention me coming home or anything like it. I know it will be hard for some *cough cough mom and dad* But it will be worth it.😊 Also that doesn't mean I want you to stop emailing /writing me haha please keep that up! I also ask that you keep me and my investigators in your prayers! And in return feel free to send me anything that I can pray for you! I know prayer is very powerful and brings miracles!

Spiritual Thought: "Holiness is in the striving and the struggle to keep the commandments and to honor the covenants we have made with God. Holiness is making the choices that will keep the Holy Ghost as our guide. Holiness is setting aside our natural tendencies and becoming "a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord." "Every moment of [our lives] must be holiness to the Lord." - Sister Carol F Mconkie

Well that's all for now! I can't believe how fast time really goes by. I am so thankful for each and every second I have spent and will continue to spend in the South❤❤ Love you all, have a great week!!

Sister Jacobsmeyer💕

1) In zone conference we had a bunch of random items and we had to make something that would fly! Giant paper airplane flown by President Uchtdorf 😉😂
2) Sister Nansel aka Kalyn!
3) Chik Fil A opened down the street from us so of course we went opening day!

This was the busiest week of my life hahah but it was SO great!

First off on Monday we spent the day at the mall, and not once, BUT TWICE I got asked if I was gay... like what. First time one of those salespeople in the middle asked if Sis Christensen was my girlfriend. Second time we had just met this girl and were getting her contact info and her co worker goes, don't ask for her number she has a boyfriend.

Anyway the week went on and I got to go on exchanges with Sister Charles in Pilot Mountain! It was a breeze! Being with an old companion is the best. We had fun and found 2 new investigators! I even got to work on a horse farm! But I have to admit something. The next morning I woke up and the room was insanely bright and I was like what time is it?? Part of me didn't wanna look, but a bigger part of me said I needed to. Yall It was 7:30😂😮 For those who don't know, missionaries are up by 6:30, sleeping in doesn't exist. I didn't even bother to ask if she had set an alarm because I just figured she had one. But guess her companion is in charge of that... big oops!

Friday we drove down to Charlotte. It brought me back to my good old days in Concord❤ We had MLC which is where all the leadership of the mission ( Zone Leaders, Sister Training Leaders, Assistants) get together to receive training and counsel about the work. Sister Hickenlooper was there so obviously we sat by each other. Seriously so thankful for all my past companions!  But MLC was great! And afterwords we were taking pictures naturally, and I started writing a note to leave for  Sister Hill.... and then Sister Rose told me she was inside (': #tendermercy So I got to see her and it was a joyous 5 minute reunion💕 And to top it all off, we drove away in a brand new car that comes with wifi 😊

Saturday Sister Alexander was up here for stake conference, and wanted to go finding with us! We met this man who only spoke Spanish. Sister Alexander had been prompted to bring a Spanish pass a long card. So we went back to the car and got it and did our best to testify to him. We referred him to the Spanish elders that night, and they got right on it! He is now their new investigator 😊 I just wish that y'all could meet Sister Alexander, I just feel like words don't describe how amazing she is ❤

Saturday night we were in this nice neighborhood and this is what went down with the 2 doors we tried
Door 1: *teenage girl telling her mom* " Mom! I think it's the Jehovah's Witness'"
Door 2 : * knocking on glass doors* Lady sees us, comes to the door, unlocks it, relocks it, AND LEAVES. Then walked away laughing, telling her husband we were the JW's
🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
Somedays (mostly saturdays) i just want to wear a giant sign that says I am not a JW😂

Anyway last but not least, we had Stake Conference! Two of our investigators were there wahooo! Bad part was literally no one knew how to be quiet. So we could hardly hear anything.
:(

Spiritual Thought: "True disciples of Jesus Christ are willing to stand out, speak up, and be different from the people of the world." - Elder Neil A Anderson

I hit 14 months this week. And I just don't know how that happened. I have reached that point where I am ready to extend and serve for 10 more months hahah but sadly I can't do that! But I want you all to know that I know this is the one and true church of Jesus Christ. It all just makes sense. And that's why I am hear in North Carolina, to help others learn and grow closer to their Savior. I love the work, and I love my mission, and I love each and everyone of you who keep cheering me on week after week. 😊 Have a wonderful week!

So this week was much better than last week thankfully!

We helped our ward mission leader and his family move on Tuesday (in the pouring rain)  which was fun! Except they are the best and I am so sad I only knew them for like 2 weeks. But our new ward mission leader is a recent returned missionary so that will be great!

Wednesday after district meeting we had exchanges! I stayed here with Sister Essig. I learned a lot. She was a STL for a few months and she is so great. She is an amazing example! We were able to teach Norman and Shervonne! Sadly still no baptism, but keep praying! We also found a new investigator #exchangemiracles Plus on the way to exchange back Thursday we got Sushi so I was happy!

Friday we literally knocked on only 6 doors. We had a real busy day! A senior couple came up to give us stuff for the booth we had this weekend! They are from Seattle and know a nurse I had as a baby! I love small connections! They also took us out to eat! It was nice to get to know them better.

Saturday our district did a farmers market booth..... epic fail. We were not allowed to talk to people unless they came to us. Like 3 people talked to us... in 4 hours 🙃  So probably won't do that again! But on an exciting note, our investigator Janice is on date for baptism!

We ended the week with a movie night with Norman, Shervonne, and a member of the ward. We watched the hour long Restoration movie (which i love more and more each time i watch it) Shervonne said it made her want to finish the Book of Mormon before she went to bed, Norman still has issues. So we will continue to have faith and be patient

Spiritual Thought:
" We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost."

Well I just wanted to let yall know that I know that I was called to the best mission in the world. Seriously. I know this is God's work and I am just an instrument in his hands. I love you all and hope to hear from you soon❤❤

Sending Love,
