Howdy Y'all!

My week was filled with lots of sadness mixed with happy times #thelifeofamissionary

So basically SATAN IS THE WOOOOORST. Seriously he had no chill this week.

So we went and taught the couple who were on date for the 27th. We get there and asked Shervonne how her Book of Mormon reading has been. She was in chapter 9, so we talked about it. Then we asked Norman. He said he was done reading it, then ranted about how it's not true, and ranted about Joseph Smith, and a bunch of other things that broke our hearts completely. Bottom line is, he was excited for his baptism and went to do more research ๐Ÿ™ƒ Our job is not to force people into anything so we bore our testimony (which led to tears flowing) and left. We cheered ourselves up with Texas Roadhouse. Also while walking in we were talking about the country music that would be playing and I said too bad Tswift isnt country anymore. Then while we were eating Our Song played and I kid you not it was louder than any other song that played. (':

The next morning Sister Christensen and I literally felt like we had been dumped. It was worse than high school๐Ÿ˜‚ Nothing hurts worse than when someone you truly love gets deceived by Satan. Seriously h8 that guy. But it's okay because the next day we had interviews with the Alexanders like hello perfect timing.

President told us to fight Satan one on one so that's exactly what we did ๐Ÿ’ชWe went back on Saturday and it was like literally so different. There was no spirit of contention, it was calm and we were oh so confused. But good news!! Norman still doesnt agree with Joseph Smith, BUT he is willing to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. We can work with that. So no baptism this week but it's okay. And they came to church! So take that Satan! ๐Ÿ‘Š

Sunday we found 2 new investigators, a brother and a sister! So thats exciting! Then I got to talk to my family❤❤❤ I love them SO much. And I only cried once! Wahoo!

Spiritual Thought:  "Adversity should not be viewed as either disfavor from the Lord or a withdrawal of His blessings. Opposition in all things is part of the refiner's fire to prepare us for an eternal celestial destiny." - Elder Quentin L Cook

Well sorry this email was kinda a downer, but hey it had a semi happy ending! We are looking forward to a better week! Thanks for the love, support and prayers! Y'all are the best!๐Ÿ’•

PS I guess I typed the wrong zip code for my address so it is actually 924 Hawk Ridge Circle Winston-Salem

Hey y'all!

So my new area is the bessssst❤ I am so thankful for the opportunity to be here! So my area is in Clemmons, NC. But it also covers  part of Winston-Salem and some other little towns. But the best part of all is there are lots and lots of people to talk to๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜ญ

So Tuesday we got a ride down to transfers and I got to see Sister Hickenlooper (aka the sister I helped train / my favorite person) She is a STL now too! So I am pumped to see her at MLC!

Our first day someone the sisters gave a card too last week called us and wanted to meet with us. That is so rare. So we were excited! The appointment was with a man and his wife. Basically he just taught us about other religions, but we were able to eventually teach parts of the restoration. We weren't able to set up a return appointment, but hopefully one day  they will be ready๐Ÿ˜Š

So we have a couple of date for baptism, Norman and Shervonne who I LOVE. They have such a desire to learn and progress plus they are hilarious. They weren't able to come to church sadly, but crazy enough we were finding in a random area and right as we left they pulled in! So we turned around and caught up with them. Norman said he was already for church but Shervonne didn't get home till 3am for work and he said " I can't go without my squad" ๐Ÿ˜‚ So we let him know that we were part of his squad too and he could come with just us!

Now for some funny stories! So Wednesday we were knocking on a door and talking to this lady. She then informed me that a bug was on my face, so Sister Christensen brushed it off. It actually ended up going down my shirt ๐Ÿ˜‚ Then that night I saw it bit my cheek! And I have about 10 on my legs and feet. I HATE BUG SEASON๐Ÿ˜ญ

And then last night we went to send in our weekly numbers and we got out to the car and Sister Christensen forgot the keys in the (locked) church ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ญ So thank heavens for Elders!! They came to the rescue!

Also so crazy Sister Christensen and I have lots of connections. For starters we took the same communications class at BYUI. She sat behind me, but we never really talked. But craizer, her grandma lived in Overton! She worked for Overton power. My family even took pictures at her red barn ( the one by the train tracks by where VIP was). And yesterday while she was skyping home she found out that my dad did tile work for her grandma. Hahaha its crazy! But nothing makes me happier than when people know where Overton is ❤

Spiritual Thought: "Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels."
My family is the traveling circus currently, so my skype didnt happen yesterday but will happen next week! Anyway just wanted to shout out my mom. She's pretty much the best. ๐Ÿ˜Š  But what else is new?❤

Okay sorry this was 4ever long. I love my mission and this area and the work. God is SO good!! Love you all!

Hey y'all! What a week!
It wasn't super exciting but I will give ya some highlights
- We lead the Tuesday Night meeting! We taught Temples and Eternal Families ❤
- We had our last District meeting of the transfer and got free chik fil a after๐Ÿ˜
- Dee became a progressing investigator (': It is so great when people actually keep their commitments!
- Thursday was a struggle. We were both just frustrated with the area and how slow it was going. But we went to the post office that day and both had a package and it made it better ❤
- On Saturday we were just SO anxious for transfer news! We knew that the mission was short on sisters so some areas had to close and we figured Stuart was in the running. So we went about the day. After dinner we went out to go finding and our phone said we had a voicemail. We had no service bc boonies. So we drove until we had some and listened to it. President Alexander had called. So naturally we freaked out and called back. He asked me to be a Sister Training Leader in Clemmons which is still in my zone haha. It is the place I have had many sleepovers so I am pretty adjusted already ๐Ÿ˜‰ As for this area, it will be combined with the Pilot Mountain area! Sister Charles will be working there! I certainly didn't  see any of this coming. I am actually still in shock. I thought I would for sure go to Boone or the Charlotte YSA area bc both full car areas. But great things are happening in Clemmons and I am excited to work there๐Ÿ˜Š

Spiritual Thought: "The devil targets all men, but especially those who have the most potential for eternal happiness." - Elder Larry R Lawrence of the Seventy

Well Stuart has had a lot of ups and downs. I grew a lot here, and learned a lot. I am thankful for the time I was able to spend here and hasten the work in this area. But I am super excited  for this next chapter! ❤ Oh! In case anyone wants to let me put my stationary to good use and write me my new address is  924 Hawk Ridge Circle Winston-Salem
NC 27013

Love you all, have an amazing week! Don't forget to spoil your moms on Sunday!! ๐Ÿ’•

Hey y'all! It was a crazy week here in Stuart!

So Tuesday we were out doing our thing and we were working in an area we hadn't been before. So like always we said a prayer before getting out of the car. We had a goal of 3 new investigators this week, so I prayed that we would find one on this street. So we knock like 4 doors, no one is home, or interested. So we see some more at the very end of the street and so we decided to go for it. It was one of those split homes. So we tried one side, no answer, but someone answered on side 2! They let us in and we taught a brief restoration and really focused on the Book of Mormon! So not only did God answer our prayer of one investigator, he gave us two! #blessed

Wednesday was the crazy day. So we went to Mount Airy for district meeting, then had district lunch at Cracker Barrel. The service was so slowwwww. We had to go to Firestone in Winston and we planned on doing that before we had interviews with our mission president. But because lunch took so long, it had to wait till after. Which is a great thing, let me tell ya why. So we dropped our car off and the mall was right by Firestone so naturally  that's where we waited. Two hours later we get a call. Apparently something in our car was broken AND THEY NEEDED TO KEEP IT OVERNIGHT๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ญ We went in to full panic mode. We had nothing with us to spend the night anywhere, including those little pills I take everynight to keep me alive. So thank the high heavens we were in our Sister Training Leaders area! ๐Ÿ™Œ They came and picked us up and we were able to do twice the missionary work! And have an unexpected sleepover, where I got to experience brushing my teeth with my fingers. I am very thankful for the invention of the tooth brush.

So next day. They called in the morning and said they got to part and they would have it done  in the afternoon. So we did weekly planning and then the sisters dropped us off to wait. And what do you know, Olive Garden was conveniently located right by Firestone. So of course we treated ourselves๐Ÿ˜œ We ended up getting home around 4pm. You could say we slept real good that night!

Saturday we were able to meet a Less Active who is actual semi active just not in the right place haha. So we let him know that Stuart has a branch! And bonus! He is getting married in 2 weeks and wants us to teach his wife๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜Š

Spiritual Thought: "When you choose whether to make or keep a covenant with God, you choose whether you will leave an inheritance of hope to those who might follow your example." Henry B Eyring

It has been raining all day since Saturday! So hopefully I don't float away ๐Ÿ˜‰ I hope you are all doing well! Love you lots❤

Hey y'all! I promise this email will be a little more exciting than last week!๐Ÿ˜œ

Pday last week was the best. We had a zone activity and had mini olympics and a cook out! After that Sister Charles and I went to the Pilot Mountain sisters apartments where Sister Brown made our eyebrows look nice again and I gave everyone jamberry gel nails❤ It was so nice and relaxing!

Tuesday we got to attend a Jewish Sader!  It was in place of the Tuesday night meeting. It was a new experience, but it was nice. While everyone was drinking wine, we opted for grape juice haha but Sister Charles did refill someones glass so of course I will never let her forget that she served someone alcohol on her mission๐Ÿ˜œ Also that night on the way home, a racoon RAN INTO OUR CAR! I was mortified. #myfirstroadkill

Wednesday we were able to see our recent convert Katelynn! She is such a sweet girl! Plus she gave out a Book of Mormon to her teacher! Missionary in training amirite?!

Thursday we had zone meeting! It was great! The STL's gave a training about unity and compared it to marriage and before they started  they were like we have a special guest... and then one of our elders comes in and drops rose petals down the aisle and starts the whole princess bride wedding scene. It was pretty funny. And weird. But mostly funny.

After the meeting I headed to the big city with Sister Roth for exchanges! And oh man I was in heaven. There were so many people!! We talked to so many! Found new investigators, and even put one of their investigators on date for baptism ๐Ÿ˜ It was glorious. Plus I got to finally go on exchanges with Sister Roth! She's so great!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Saturday night we were invited over to a members home to dye easter eggs! So that was some messy fun! Oh and before we got there, we were up in a far away area of our mission and our gps actually took us out of our mission for like 3 minutes to get to their house and we were kinda in panic mode ๐Ÿ˜‚ but at least now I can say I have been in Henry County๐Ÿ˜œ

Easter was great! We were fed by the Turner family, who I loveeeee❤ But of course the meaning of Easter is not the family gatherings or the candy you get. I know that my redeemer lives. I am so thankful for his courageous sacrifice in our behalf. He lived, died, and lived again, so that we too may all live again! As a mission we all read the book of John leading up to Easter. It made me feel closer to Christ. So I would invite you all to do the same! Get to know him better! You will find so much peace in your life if you do! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Spiritual Thought:
" President David O. McKay promised every man who uses the priesthood in righteousness that he "will find his life sweetened, his discernment sharpened to decide quickly between right and wrong, his feelings tender and compassionate, yet his spirit strong and valiant in defense of right; he will find the priesthood a never failing source of happiness—a well of living water springing up unto eternal life" "

This was from our Sunday school lesson yesterday and I just kept thinking of all my friends who actually honored their priesthood. I have seen those blessings in their lives and I just wanted to express my gratitude for their examples ๐Ÿ˜Š So if you are a priesthood holder I encourage you to honor it! So you too can be that good example in someones life!

Well that's all folks! I hope you all enjoyed the fair and ate a funnel cake in my honor ๐Ÿ˜œ PS two of my favorite people are getting one year older and wiser this weekend! So if you see my mom or sister this weekend give them a hug for me❤ Love you all SO much!

Hey Y'all! This week was not super exciting but I can still tell ya about it!

Tuesday we got to teach the religious meeting! We shared the Prince of Peace video and talked about Christ's Resurrection! It went pretty good! ๐Ÿ˜Š If you havent watched the video yet, go do it! @ mormon.org

On Wednesday after district meeting and service, we were able to teach a few less actives! Some we hadn't met yet which was great! We also had a really good lesson with our recent convert Katelynn. There was also a HUGE thunderstorm that night that literally shook our apartment. So that was exciting.

Friday we hit 50,000 miles which means we are up for a brand new mission car๐ŸŽ‰  This weekend we also helped out at a local Rescue Squad fundraiser event. So we did LOT'S of service. But it was way fun! And we got to be in the community!

Sunday a miracle happened! One of the people that come to the Tuesday night meeting came to church!!!๐Ÿ™Œ And stayed 2 hours!! Wahoooooo! We were pumped!

Sorry this week was kinda lame. Maybe next week will be a little more exciting! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Since my week was so ehh feel free to share some exciting things about your week๐Ÿ˜Š

Spiritual Thought: " As we approach this holy week—Passover Thursday with its Paschal Lamb, atoning Friday with its cross, Resurrection Sunday with its empty tomb—may we declare ourselves to be more fully disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, not in word only and not only in the flush of comfortable times but in deed and in courage and in faith, including when the path is lonely and when our cross is difficult to bear. This Easter week and always, may we stand by Jesus Christ "at all times and in all things, and in all places that [we] may be in, even until death,"21 for surely that is how He stood by us when it was unto death and when He had to stand entirely and utterly alone. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen." - Elder Jeffery R Holland

I hope y'all have a wonderful Easter with your loved ones! And If any one sees my brother Garrett at the fair this week tell him Happy Birthday for me๐Ÿ’š

53 MY CUP RUNNETH OVER

****  Jenni asked me to post this Monday.....I got sidetracked.  Ooops!  Here it is.   For some reason, she gets very hit and miss on whether it posts from her end or not.

Anyway, this is April 3rd Edition!   Enjoy.....

I am on a Rollercoaster that only goes up my friends! Okay that is totally a quote from The Fault In Our Stars, but it pretty much sums up my week.

This week started off with a beautiful rainstorm complete with big thunder and bright lightening. And those pretty purple skies! One of my favorite things out here, are the storms❤

On Tuesday we were up in the mountains visiting former investigators and trying to visit less active members. We knocked on a door expecting the less active to answer, but Sister Gray answered! It was a sweet surprise! Her daughter was the one we were looking for, but we didn't realize she lived with her. We got to meet her grandson who is mentally handicapped. He had such a sweet spirit to him! We learned that he loves Primary songs, so we sang to him ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thursday I turned one year old in the mission field (': Still so weird. But it was an exciting day because this mom and daughter that come to the Tuesday night meeting that we have been DYING to teach, set up an appointment with us๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐ŸŽ‰ We got there and they invited us to eat with them, and they showed us around their home and little farm. We were able to answer some questions for them and go over the first discussion! We ended up only teaching 3 / 5 family members, and it didn't go as perfect as we role played it to be, but it was still a miracle. Both daughters excepted a Book of Mormon, and wanted to tune in to conference! So hopefully we see some progress with this sweet family in the future❤

I have never been so tired as I was on Friday. Okay that is probably false but oh man it was a LONG day! So we had district meeting in Mount Airy. I am finally in a district with another set of sisters! Can I get a hallelujah?! ๐Ÿ™Œ After that we rushed to get some lunch, then rushed to Statesville to meet Sister Lewis, our mission nurse. She drove us to Charlotte for my last Dr appointment on the mission   *happy dances bc I miss my own doctor*  The appointment went fine, there was some increase in some medical term I can't remember, but they weren't worried about it.    In case you were wondering, I didn't cry as much as I did the other two appointments. But I did tear up, because being an adult is hard, and sometimes you just want your mom.  The appointment was done at 4:30 aka prime traffic time, so we stopped for dinner. We got to Statesville around 7:30, treated ourself to Sweet Frog frozen yogurt, cause we don't see civilized places like that too often, and then finally drove home. We got home a little after 9 and were beat.

But guess what was cherry on top of the week?? GENERAL CONFERENCE!!๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’— Oh man it was so so good! So this whole paragraph will just be my spiritual thought okay? Ok. I wrote down some quotes that I love! "Be an example of living the doctrine" It is so easy to go to church, and listen to what's said and then just forget about it as soon as you get home. There is a big difference in going to church and living the doctrine. So try harder to be that example. You never know who is watching or who's life you will touch.
"Come as you are but dont plan to stay as you are" This sums up my year on my mission so far. I came on a mission, not fully aware of all the gospel had to offer. I know I have been changed, for the better. I feel the same in some aspects on my personality. But I am not the same person I was a year ago and I love it.
"I kept my promise cause I said I would." I loved this talk. Always remember what you have promised, not only to God, but even people in your own life. Christ was the perfect example of keeping his promises, so let us try and follow that example.

There was a lot more that I loved, but you probably stopped reading 3 paragraphs ago, and at this point I am just exercising my fingers. But over all Conference was great. I feel like the main theme was repentence. But in a loving, gentle way. And the Plan of Salvation! If you didnt get to watch it, member or not, go and watch!! You can visit lds.org and it will be on the home page. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Heavenly Father even blessed us in between and after conference with 2 new investigators! We are so happy!!  ๐Ÿ˜Š

Sorry this was SO long, but I am sure, or hopeful at least my parents read it all ๐Ÿ˜œ Love you all so incredibly much! I know that Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ are there for us all. They picked me up at my lowest point, just to raise me higher. Life can be hard, but the gospel makes everything so WORTH IT!! ❤
